KNOCK Clipper changed my mixes!

Oh my gosh, I just bought the KNOCK Clipper and it's insane! My drums sound so much punchier now, without that harsh clipping. I've been struggling to get my kicks to cut through and this thing just does it instantly. Every producer needs this. Seriously, I'm already planning my next purchase. You'll definitely see me back here, telling all my friends about it!

Good plugin, minor hiccup

I finally picked up the KNOCK Plugin during a sale. Installation was straightforward, and it really does make a difference on my drum bus, adding that professional polish I was after. The transient shaper part is especially useful. My only minor issue was that the license key email took about fifteen minutes to arrive; I was getting a bit antsy. But once it landed, everything worked as expected. Great tool for the price, just a small delay getting started.

Got Drums That Knock Vol. 8

So I was looking for some new sounds and a friend told me about these Drums That Knock kits. I ended up getting Vol. 8. The samples sound pretty good, definitely usable right out of the box. The website was easy enough to navigate, just clicked and bought it. Downloaded everything without any fuss. All in all, a decent experience, might grab another volume sometime if I need more.

Always reliable downloads

I've picked up a few Drums That Knock kits over the past year, and this time I grabbed Drums That Knock Vol. 10. The download process was just as smooth as my previous orders. Files were in my account right after purchase, ready to go. Good to see the consistency.

Thinking of finally getting the KNOCK Clipper. Saw some older posts about discount codes, but do they ever do flash sales or holiday deals for it anymore? Or is it mostly bundle discounts?

M maxwell 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
I got my KNOCK plugin during their Black Friday sale last year. The clipper was part of a bundle, I think. Definitely worth waiting for the big sales.

R Rahul 1 week ago
Yeah, their Black Friday deals are usually pretty good. Don't think I've seen many standalone clipper deals outside of that.

S Sneha22 1 week ago
Black Friday seems like the best bet then. Thanks!

G gamerraj 1 week ago
They sometimes have a smaller holiday bundle discount around Christmas, but it's not as deep as Black Friday usually. You can also sign up for their newsletter, sometimes they send out exclusive codes.

Good call on the newsletter. Already signed up, but haven't seen anything for the clipper specifically yet.

I got a student discount on my KNOCK plugin, but I don't think that applies to just the Clipper. Might be worth checking if DECAP offers any student discounts for his other stuff though.

Hmm, not a student, so that won't work for me. But thanks for the info!

Just updated my KNOCK plugin to the latest version and now FL Studio is crashing on startup. Anyone else having this issue on Windows?

C coolboy88 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Same here! FL Studio 21 on Windows 11. It's not crashing on startup but KNOCK isn't loading properly in my projects. Just a blank GUI.

Have you tried contacting support? I heard their support is usually pretty responsive.

C coolboy88 1 month ago
Not yet. Was hoping for a quick fix here first.

Okay, so it's not just me with update issues. Good to know it's not my system then.

P PoojaR 1 month ago
Hmm, I updated mine yesterday on an M1 Mac and it's been working fine in Ableton. No crashes for me.
7
R Rahul87 1 month ago
Could be. I'm on Windows 10, FL Studio 21.

D darkknight 1 month ago
M1 is usually pretty stable. Wonder if it's a Windows specific thing or FL Studio acting up.

A AmitM 1 month ago
I had a similar problem a while back with a different plugin after an update. Try reinstalling FL Studio, sometimes that clears up plugin conflicts.

R Rahul87 1 month ago
That's a pain, but worth a shot if nothing else works. Thanks for the tip.

Thinking about grabbing one of the Drums That Knock bundles during the upcoming holiday sales. Any recommendations on which volume is best for trap/hip-hop?

V Vikram 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Volumes 4 and 7 are solid for trap. Super punchy drums, especially the 808s and kicks. I still use them all the time.

P Pooja 3 weeks ago
Yeah, all Drums That Knock samples are royalty-free. You're good to go.

K Karan 3 weeks ago
Good to know. Are the samples royalty-free?

A Anjali 3 weeks ago
Honestly, they're all great. If you can, get a bundle that includes a few. The bundles usually give you the best discount. I started with Vol 3 and 5.

K Karan 3 weeks ago
I'm hoping for a good Black Friday plugin sale. Maybe I can snag a bigger bundle then.

I heard good things about Vol 10 too, but haven't tried it myself. Might be worth checking out the demos.

Just updated my KNOCK plugin to the latest version and now it crashes FL Studio every time I load it. Anyone else having this issue?

P Priya 1 month ago
Mine was doing that on Ableton too, but only with certain projects. Reverted to the previous version for now.

Windows 10. Maybe it's a Windows specific bug then.

Is there usually a Black Friday sale for Plugins That Knock? Been eyeing the Drums That Knock Vol. 10.

B Beth 2 months ago
Absolutely. They always do a big Black Friday thing, usually good discounts on bundles and individual kits. I got Vol. 8 last year then.
6
N Nick 2 months ago
Yep, Christmas too. And sometimes a summer sale. Always worth waiting for a deal if you're not in a rush.

Are the samples in the Drums That Knock kits royalty free? Don't want to get into any trouble later on.

R Raj 2 months ago
Pretty sure all their samples are royalty-free. That's kinda the standard for these types of packs, afaik.

C Cleo 2 months ago
Yes, they are. You can use them in your tracks without worrying about clearances.

How do these compare to like, Splice or Cymatics kits? Is it worth the higher price point for DECAP's stuff?

J Julia 1 month ago
Totally different vibe. DECAP's stuff is way more curated and polished for a specific sound. Splice is good for quantity, but the quality here is usually a step up.

D Dana Torres 1 month ago
I've used both. For drums, nothing really hits like Drums That Knock. The processing is just different, way more impactful out of the box.

Thinking of picking up the KNOCK plugin, but I'm on an M1 Mac. Anyone using it without issues?

M Mike R. 2 months ago
Yeah, it works fine on my M1. No problems with Logic Pro or Ableton.

I've got an M2 and it's smooth sailing. Pretty sure it's optimized for the new chips.
